About Veo

Veo is Google DeepMind's video generation model, capable of producing high-definition video clips up to one minute in length from text or image prompts. It was trained on a large dataset of professional video content and supports a wide range of cinematic styles - from documentary realism to stylized animation. Veo understands complex prompts involving camera movement, depth of field, lighting conditions, and scene continuity, making it one of the most controllable text-to-video models available to creators. Access to Veo is available through Google's VideoFX and through the Gemini API for developers. It is positioned as a professional creative tool rather than a consumer product, with an emphasis on quality over speed. For filmmakers, advertising agencies, and video production studios experimenting with AI-assisted production, Veo represents Google's most serious entry into the generative video space. Its integration with the broader Google ecosystem means it will likely appear in products like YouTube Studio and Google Workspace in the near future.
